CVS Trip(s) 01/10/13 & 01/11/13

Made a couple of trips to CVS this week.  I was a little bummed that they were out of the Finish dishwasher detergent and I picked up the last 2 packs of the Stayfree (they were on buy 1 get 1 free).  I was hoping to get a couple more, but that’s how it goes. I could have picked up a rain check for the Finish, but it was part of the deal for when you spend $30 you receive a $10 cash card.  I’m hoping it goes on sale some place else since there is a really good coupon out there for it.  I’ll keep my eye out for it.

Here is what I picked up this week.

I ended up spending a total of $34.78 out of pocket for $177.00 retail value of product and still have a $10.00 Cash Card to use for my next trip.

It doesn’t look I will need any laundry soap for the rest of the year, unless I see a really good deal on it.  I am still going through my stockpile from last year, but it was getting a little low, so I was worried. Need to stock up on the items when you can!

Rite Aid Trip 01/08/13

Wow, what a great week it was for couponing!  I’m so excited about all the deals I got this week.

From the drug stores I stocked up on some more lip balm, laundry detergent and water. At Target, hand soap and the previous week I stocked up on batteries from Staples.

I only show my posts to the drug stores, but you should really check out the deals you can get at Target.  I was able to get Dial hand soap for $0.66 cents a bottle along with Clean & Clear face products and Aveeno lotion on gift card deals.  I’ve been doing a lot of the gift card deals and right now I have $35 in Target gift cards.  I’m going to try to keep them until the end of the year to see how many I can get and use them for Christmas shopping, but I’m not sure if I will have the willpower to do.

When we had our annual cookie exchange holiday party last month, some of my stock got depleted from our family and friends.  But it is great to be able to share with them!  It’s funny because whenever someone comes over they always go home with a goodie bag and if we have overnight guests they get full size items to use if they forget something and can take them home afterwards.

This is the Rite Aid trip I did this last week.  Since I used up all my UP’s mid last month and haven’t really seen anything I needed I haven’t been by in a while.  Also, I was out on vacation and I don’t really like to go to the Rite Aid by my house unless it’s a really good deal or I forgot my UP’s are about to expire and have no choice.  I’m glad I went back to work this week so I could pick up these deals.

Rite Aid 01-08-13
Purchased:
  • 2 – Nivea Lotion 13.5 oz 5.99 ea
  • 8 – Nivea Lip Care 0.17 oz $2.50 ea
  • 2 – Stayfree pads 18 ct $2.50 ea
  • 1 – Mitchum deodorant 2.25 oz $3.99
Coupons Used:
  • 4 – $3.00/2 Nivea Lip Care Stick, 0.17 oz or Tube, 0.3 oz
  • 2 – $2.00/1 Nivea body lotion, any 8.4 oz – 16.9 oz
  • 1 – $1.00/1 Mitchum or Mitchum for Woman product, any
  • 1 – $2.00/1 Mitchum deodorant Rite Aid in ad
  • 1 – Buy 1 Get 1 Free Stayfree product (up to $4.49)

*Retail Value before sale prices, coupons and w/o tax $51.87

It may seem like a spent a lot, but remember your first trip is always more and then as you roll your rewards (UP’s, ECB’s or RR’s) into other items the following weeks that also offer rewards, then your costs go down.

If you haven’t started couponing yet, I hope you do.  I know it’s not for everyone, but I just love it!  I just can’t believe all the items you can get for free or really cheap.

I purchased a little of everything from make up, pain medication, personal hygiene items to pet food and still  have $12.00 in ECB’s leftover to start the New Year with.

It was fun to see if I could improve from my last challenge which I believe I did.
