A little of everything

CVS GC Challenge (Round 2) Trip#1 07/28/12

Since I have another gift card, I thought I would start another CVS challenge to see if I can improve from my last challenge earlier this year.  In that challenge I started with $32.19 in gift card and ECB’s and was able to do 6 trips and purchase $187.50 in product (retail value).

For this new challenge I’m starting with:
  • $23.94 Gift Card
  • $8.00 ECB
  • $31.94 Total
It’s almost the same amount as last time, so let’s see how I can do.
Before I went CVS I checked my account online because I had received an email for $5.00 ECB’s.  Not sure why, CVS  just gave them and they came in handy for this trip.
  • 2 – Twix candy $0.50 ea
  • 2 – Starbuck Refreshers 12 oz $1.55  ea ($1.50 +$0.05 CRV)
  • 2 – Crest 3D White toothpaste 4.0 oz $2.99 ea
  • 1-  Friskies cat food $4.99
  • 1 – Popchips .8 oz $0.99
Coupons Used:
  • 2 – $0.75/1 Crest toothpaste or gel 4.0 oz or larger
  • 1 – $1.00/2 any Mars candy CVS coupon
  • 1 – $5.00 ECB
  • 1 – $8.00 ECB
Total OOP:  $1.31 ($0.56 + $0.75 tax) Used GC ~ Received $3.00 & $4.00 ECB’s

*Retail Value before sale prices, coupons and w/o tax $21.42

Remaining balance:
  • $22.63 Gift Card
  • $7.00 ECB
  • $29.63 Total

Not too bad for my first trip.  I was going to get the Advil that was on sale, but my store was all out so I requested a rain check.  Rain checks are great at CVS because they never expire and they will honor the ECB deals.

Have I mentioned before how much I love CVS?  They are my favorite and absolute best drug store to shop at when using coupons.  Plus if you scan your card at the store or check your card account online, they provide a bunch of CVS store coupons that you can match with your regular coupons.

How about you?  Do you have a favorite drug store to shop at for the deals?
