Rite Aid Trip 07/08/12

So disappointed with my Rite Aid trip yesterday. I went to the store by my house and there is always this same cashier. I feel like I’m being targeted by her whenever I go there. It doesn’t matter if I’m purchasing one item or twenty and have one or multiple coupons. For some reason she always scans my items and leaves them out on the counter and then needs to make a copy of my receipt to match each coupon and item. I always follow the coupon policy and don’t try to sneak in a coupon that doesn’t belong but for some reason she always has to do this. Now I don’t know if she does this to everyone that coupons as I have never seen anyone in line using coupons but it’s just so annoying. I feel like I’m being singled out. Whenever I go to other stores, they scan all my items, then place it in the bag and then scan my coupons. If they ever question a coupon, they just check the bag and verify.

On this particular trip I decided to try the Revlon deal that The Krazy Coupon Lady had listed. I was actually shocked that they had every item in stock that I needed. When I get to the register she does what she normally does and prints out the receipt. She then starts to tell me how I can’t use some of my dollar off coupons on some of the products because some of the items are not a dollar due to then being buy one get one 50% off. I told her to go ahead and reduce the coupon down and she tells me she needs to get her manager to approve. He says it can’t be done either because it’s more than a few cents?

I wish I would have had my coupon policy with me because if I did I could have pointed out that section that states “Customers can use up to two coupons with a Buy One, Get One at a % off promotion, provided the total value of the coupons does not exceed the selling price of the two items combined.” I didn’t feel like trying to explain it to them, so I just had them take those items off.

Here is what I ended up with.

Purchased:
  • 1 – Lysol Dual Action wipes 35 ct $3.89 ea
  • 1 – Lysol wipes 35 ct $0.00 (Buy 1 Get 1 Free)
  • 2 – Zest body wash, 18 oz $2.99
Coupons Used:
  • 2 – $2.00 UP
  • 1 – $2.50 UP
Total OOP: $4.13 ($3.37 + $0.76 tax) ~ Received 2 – $2.00 UP’s

*Retail Value before sale prices, coupons and w/o tax $15.36

So bummed because I had two $1.00 coupons for the Zest body wash I was going to use, but because of the whole incident earlier I forgot to give them again. Oh well, I have a $3.00 rebate for the Lysol Dual Action wipes, so my out-of-pocket would really be $1.13, but could have been even less with my coupons. Hopefully I will see a deal on these later so I can use them!
