A little of everything

CVS Trip 05/31/12

I stopped by CVS today to try out a money-maker deal I saw at KCL, but it didn’t quite work out for me.  I only received one $3.00 ECB instead of two.  I’m sure it’s because I purchased the smaller size.  Seems to working for others from the comments I saw, but oh well, you win some, you lose some.  I still received a good deal, so I’m not complaining.

I also called CVS customer service yesterday about my $5.00 expired ECB and was told that I would have by Friday.  When I scanned my card today it was already there.  I also told the customer service rep I had lost my Green Bag tag and he issued a $1.00 ECB so I could get another.

  • 1 – Crest Complete 6.2 oz $3.49
  • 1 – Crest Complete 2.7 oz $2.87
  • 1 – Green bag tag $0.99
Coupons Used:
  • 1 – $0.75/1 Crest toothpaste 4 oz or larger, any
  • 1 – $0.75 ECB (reduced down to $0.70)
  • 1 – $1.00 ECB
  • 1 – $5.00 ECB
Total OOP:  $0.10 ($0.00 + $0.10 tax) ~ Received $3.00 & $1.00 ECB

*Retail Value before sale prices, coupons and w/o tax $7.85

I did lose $0.15 from my one ECB because my sub total was only $0.60 and they won’t deduct tax anymore.  My OOP ended up lower than what I thought it would be.  I’m not quite sure how CVS figures tax, but by my calculation, I thought it  was off of the total before coupons, but it only ended up being $0.10.  So then I thought maybe it was from the sub total after coupons, but that doesn’t come out right either.  It’s a mystery!

I hope everyone is getting the good deals out there!

Have a great weekend!
