Walgreens Trip 04/16/12
Went to Walgreens today to pick up a couple of items. I went for the Nivea, but because RR’s (Register Rewards) are considered manufacturer coupons and Walgreens only allows one manufacturer coupon per item, I had to add a couple of filler items. In this case, two candy bars.
I think that’s the only thing I don’t like about Walgreens. When I first started shopping there last year, it was really confusing for me. Especially when I was picking up a bunch of items. I always had to count how many coupons I had versus how many items. Then the other trick I’ve learned from visiting the different sites is that if you are using a Walgreens coupon (from their paper or monthly coupon book), be sure you have the cashier scan it last because for some reason that sometimes messes up the coupon verses item count. Not sure why, but I know it has messed me up in the past and I’ve had to add extra items to get my deals to work. CVS & Rite Aid are so much easier to shop at. You can use as many of their ECB’s or UP’s that you want (up to the tax… except in some cases at CVS).
Anyhow, here’s what I got today.
- 1 – Nivea for Men post shave balm 3.3 oz $3.50
- 1 – Nivea for Men 2 in 1 after shave & gel moisturizer 3.3 oz $3.50
- 2 – Hershey’s 1.55 oz $1.00 ea
- 2 – $2.00/1 Nivea for Men face care or $2.00/2 shave gels or foams
- 1 – $1.50 RR
- 1 – $2.00 RR
*Retail Value before sale prices, coupons and w/o tax $14.98
Geez’, can you believe how expensive candy is? This was actually one of the cheapest I could locate. I remember back in the day and I might be aging myself now, but they used to be like 50 or 65 cents. Now it’s a buck! And that’s the sale price! The only reason I purchased them is because my daughter kept asking me ALL weekend to check for the after easter candy mark downs and I kept forgetting. I checked here and couldn’t locate any left over easter candy. Since I needed something to add-on, here it is!
