A little of everything

My CVS Challenge Trip #6 – The Final Trip

Geez’ it’s been a long time since I’ve posted!  Time sure does fly!  I hope everyone had a great Easter.

I did my final trip with the CVS gift card challenge on March 22nd and can’t believe I’m just posting it now.  It has been such a busy time.  I’m not really sure why, but anyhow…

To recap, I started in January with:

  • $30.00 GC
  • $2.19 GC (leftover from old $10.00 GC deal)
  • No ECB’s (Extra Care Bucks)
  • Total $32.19

Here’s a break down of what I started with this week and my purchase:

  • $2.91 CC
  • $5.00 ECB’s
  • Total $7.91
I bought:

1 Got2B dry shampoo $3.99
3 Carefree pantyliners $1.00 ea  – $3.00
2 Mitchum deodorants $1.99 ea – $3.98
2 Clean & Clear daily pore cleanser $6.29 & $3.14 (Buy 1, get 1 for 50% off)
1 Clean & Clear deep action exfoliating scrub $6.49
1 Clean & Clear blackhead eraser $3.24 (Buy 1, get 1 for 50% off)
1 Biore blemish fighting ice cleanser $8.29
1 Biore deep cleansing pore strips $10.49

  • Used 1 $3.00 any Got2B
  • Used 1 $8.29 (Buy any Biore pore strip and receive one free cleanser)
  • Used 3 $1.00 Carefree
  • Used 4 $1.00 Clean & Clear
  • Used 2 $1.00 Mitchum
  • Used 1 $5.00 ECB

Total OOP w/tax – $24.50 (Used $2.91 CC) ~ Received $5.00 ECB’s

I did have one coupon that I received from the CVS machine that I’m not sure I could have used.  It was $10.00 off when you buy 3 Clean & Clear acne facial items.  I found it after I got home and was going to go back and check, but never did.

In the end I made 6 trips and spent around $19.70 (my trip previous I paid $.20 cash) out of pocket w/tax when subtracting the ECB I just received for $187.50 worth of products (before sale prices & coupons, no tax).

Not too bad!  I think I will get another GC next month and see if I can do any better.  I think I can because last year I stocked up a bunch and it seemed like I didn’t spend much.  Not sure if the sales were better then or I just bought whatever there was a deal on?  It seems like now, I’m really only buying the items we like and use.  I think I did that before and never really purchased anything I know I definitely won’t use or know anyone that uses.  I try not to be that kind of purchaser.  Why get items you don’t need, will go to waste and take up space?
